Yesterday I installed Delphi XE2 using the download option, so I guess the installed files came from Embarcadero up to date as 1st Nov. I assume that I therefore acquired Update 1 (the one that otherwise needed a complete reinstall?). To check, clicking 'Check for updates' in the program group produces 'No updates available', yet Help About shows only 'Help Release 1 for Delphi XE2....' in 'Installed Updates'.

You cannot just go from XE2 to update 2 directly.Update 1 is a mandatory install which requires you to first completely uninstall. Then reinstall. All subsequent delphi xe2 updates will then install without an uninstall first.Refer delphi xe2 update 1 release notes as per links provided in above answer.
When at clients, I often see Delphi XE2 only updated until Delphi XE2 Update 4 (sometimes not even Update 3 is installed, which means you can run into Strange Format result in Delphi XE2 when using Currency data types).

It looks until you registered your copy you're unable to access the registered user download page. They should have added a way to register the product before you install it, but they didn't.Even worse, when I bought three upgrades to XE2, the seller just sent me the web installer link, not the one to the ISO, and the Installaware web installer is not one of my favourite piece of software....Customer support is still the weaker side of BorCodeDero, compare it to dowloading software from MSDN and the difference is very huge.

It would be nice if embarcadero provided a location where you could download the compatible libmysql.dll files that work with dbexpress, it is worth noting that the XE2 read me does come with the following note :-
To get a 5.1.XX compatible DLL you will need to download an achieved mysql complete installation zip and extract the DLL as no compatible versioned MYSQL C Connector package could be downloaded when I looked.
Wow.. it's works well done, I try to download then i copy that to my system32 folder, and i try to connect to mysql database but still the same problem, after that i try to close my XE2 and open it the application and try to connect again, then viola.. i success to connect that.. thanks manyyyyyy thanks..
wow, it worked with me , can't believe that ; I downloaded the zip and I extracted it to the directory: C:\Program Files\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\9.0\bin since I am using a windows 7 /32 bits. Thank you very mmuch for the solution ;)

Within my HRPT Reader, I had a need fora curve fitting routine that could handle a higher order fit than a simple straight-line orparabolic curve fit, and that could handle an arbitrary number of data points. I found a version of Allen Miller's Curve Fitting routine (from: the book "Pascal Programs For Scientists And Engineers", which had been typed and submitted to MTPUG in Oct. 1982 by Juergen Loewner,and corrected and adapted for Turbo Pascal by Jeff Weiss. I have updated these routines to work with Delphi4 and 5's open array parameters. which allows the routine to be generalised so that it is no longer hard-coded to make a specific order of best fit or work with a specific number of points, and this same code works unaltered in Delphiversions up to Delphi 2009 (Delphi 2010 should be OK as well, but I don't haveit to test). There is a note included on using this unit with Delphi XE2.

Like me, you may have encountered problems when trying towrite JPEG images between one and two megabytes in size. You can avoidthese problems by using the IntelJPEG Library, and possibly gain a speed advantage as well.
